Adam...where do i start!

Well i talked about Joe now Adam......from the day he was born Adam has stood out. My waters broke in the morning so i walked Joe round to a friends and then walked into the hospital on a lovely spring day in April 96. When i got there they said that the waters were still intact at the front so i checked in. It wasn't until around 9pm that i started to really feel painful, i reckoned it wouldn't be long as this was the same level of pain that i had with  Joe when he was ready to be born, i was examined and the nurse said not yet then...WHAT!!!!!! 2 ! 2 cms, i wanted to go to the labour ward anyway and on arriving was told that the midwife had another lady there and i may have to go back to the ward. I stayed and although she told me that i was unlikely to have Adam before 6am she soon sent the other lady back to the ward and Adam was born at 00.08 on the 16th April.
He was weighed and was 71b 8 ounces, i actually asked if the scales were correct! after Joe's big weight i thought i would have more of the same. He had a shock of dark curly hair where Joe had very little, he would grow to have dark brown eyes where as Joe's were Hazel like mine. He didn't cry he just peered out through the plastic side of his cot having a look around at his new environment.
Adam age 2
He was a gorgeous baby as all the boys were, but his hair fell in lovely ringlets unlike Joe's or Zaki's later. But he was a very determined boy, in nursery he held his arm up to every question and would get upset if he wasn't asked each time. I remember once at the local shopping centre refusing to let him have a fizzy drink, this started in Woolworths and i was asked if i was ok in there as he was making such a noise, i moved out into the mall and on the way through he threw himself on the floor kicking and screaming so i just sat with him until he would walk further down to WH Smith where he continued and i was asked again if i was ok. In the end he cal,med down it took about an hour, getting him into the car in the car park a car stopped as it came past and the guy driving rolled his window and said 'he stopped crying then!'

Later in primary school he became quite popular, he got involved in the chess club and was very committed to it, i think it was testament to Adam's popularity that they had the biggest number of kids attending during that period holding 4 teams in each tournament....which Adam was always individually successful in.

However his temper was getting the better of him at times and his complete conviction that he is right and the rest of the world is wrong. He was excluded at primary school for anger and since he moved to secondary school about 6 more times for the same reason. It was a huge occasion when he heard what school he had got into, somehow he managed to join a Haberdashers school, one of the most subscribed schools in London, he has always been bright and especially good at maths. He is doing well now.

He is very loyal his best friend is John they both started nursery on the same day, John is a day older than Adam and i must have been in the hospital at the same time. I love Adam's openness to all creeds he is fiercely open minded and hates any form of racism. He is also proud of his roots and will often say that he is African which can initiate very confused responses.....he is he is half north. african

Adam has something unique going on if he can harness it properly, the link is of him singing at the school music concert a couple of weeks or so ago and says he wants to be a singer. He is a sensitive soul under all the bluff, he is closer to his dad than the other two but still his own man. He has been a negotiator, the middle child trying to keep everyone happy and worrying about everything. I would love to see what course his life takes i think it could be an interesting ride, he is 15 now so i hope that i will at least see him through A levels and on into his 20's. I would love to see what kind of adult he turns into and whether he can channel all that energy away from losing his temper and use it more productively especially now he is 6ft2! come a long way from being a 7 pound scrawny baby.

Adam Aug 11 age 15 at a wedding.
